It is my belief that there are very few things that feed the soul like photography. It is a moment captured; a smile, a sideways glance.....an unexpected kiss. It is a day spent at the park or an evening chasing fireflies. A single photograph can transform you instantly to another time and place, make your heart ache, or even make you laugh out loud. It is an unbelievalbly powerful magic....

My mom taught me how to love. My dad taught me how to see the beauty in everything. My husband taught me to believe in myself. My kids taught me how to be silly. My friends and family taught me the importance of friends and family. And my clients have taught me that there is a reason for what I create.

This is who I am......Thanks to everyone who had a hand in it. Faerie Feather Design is as much a concept as it is a business. And my photographic style differs from most traditional photographers. I do not like to take boring, sit-up-straight, say-cheese portraits. I like to follow my client's lead and see where we end up. It is this method that I believe allows me to best capture that moment which expresses who you are. and will spark your imagination for years to come.

Along with traditional photography, I also love to create pieces aimed at touching your heart - whether that comes in the form of Restoration/Digitization of family pictures or a custom Faerie Creation, I can't wait to start this journey with you.

I am based in Belvidere, IL (just outside of Rockford) and travel throughout the area - meeting old and new friends and performing my shoots out in the great outdoors. I love this part. I love making the babies smile and chasing the kids around the playground. My photo shoots are planned and conducted to create an environment where personalities shine through. As a preference, I like to shoot in 100% natural light (I think it is the most flattering and brings out the best in my clients)

My road to becoming a professional photographer was a simple one - growing up with my father constantly shooting weddings, event and portraits. I strive to capture who you are - and not just what you look like.....Family portraits, engagement, new baby; if it's important to you let me help you capture the memories.

Although Child portraits are a love of mine, I have to admit that my true love is working with my clients and collaberating on creating a custom piece of art for them to hold onto and share. I want my images to touch and tug at your heart. I want to create timeless pieces that bring a tear of joy to your heart. I want my pieces to warm your heart and capture the magic that exists within....

As a mother of three, I know how fast time passes, and how the child you cradled in your arms is growing up everyday.... this is what I strive to capture - the little wisps of personality, time and bliss - and then create something that keeps it bottled up forever.

The price for a Faerie shoot ranges between $350 and $600 and includes:

> Sitting/Portrait Fee
> CD with 20-25 images from the shoot
> 11" x 14" High Quality Print
> 6" x 6" Tile with the image engrained on it

Before the shoot, I will consult with you either via phone or email on clothing choices (pettiskirts, brightly coloured tights, knitted hats, jumpers, etc) and ideas that you may have for the look of the piece (my thought is that if there is a specific look, animal or meaning that you want to see, that I need to know it and do what I can to work it into our piece)
